CRI CARMELARAM ZONE Celebrates the Jubilee of Consecrated Life

Bengaluru, September 28, 2025: The CRI Carmelaram (Bengaluru) Zone marked the jubilee of consecrated life with a two-day celebration that included a Jubilee Sports Day event and a Jubilee Seminar on the theme, “Called and Consecrated to be Pilgrims of Hope.” The zone consists of around 48 religious communities. The Jubilee Sports were organized on Saturday, September 27, by St. Jerome’s College of Somascan Fathers. The event included badminton and throwball for women and badminton, volleyball, and football for men religious. The event attracted good participation with nearly 360 religious in attendance. Claretian novices bagged the overall championship for men whereas Sanyasa Institute won the same for women.


The Jubilee Seminar was hosted by the Institute of Consecrated Life – Sanyasa on Sunday, September 28 and was attended by 210 religious from the zone. The event included two plenary sessions, a short movie, poster presentations, and concelebrated Holy Eucharist. Fr. Agnal Amalan, president of the Karnataka Regional Conference of Religious delivered the jubilee message. Fr. Dr. Rathan Almeida, OCD, director of Dhyanavana Institute of Holistic Spirituality, Mysore, led the first plenary session on the theme “The Consecrated as Pilgrims of Hope for a Wounded World.” Dr. Tony Sam George, psychologist and director of the Neuropathways Institute, Bengaluru, enlightened the audience on the theme, “From Neglect to Nurture: Being Stewards of Our Emotional Lives,” focusing on the urgent issue of the mental health of priests and religious. A 17-minute movie For Love Alone, produced by the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious (CMSWR) of the United States, was screened. Seven formation communities had participated in a poster contest on the jubilee theme, which was jointly won by Camillian and Claretian novices. The day’s proceedings ended with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Antony Kunnel, MI, provincial superior of the Camillians.


The jubilee weekend was, indeed, a time of deep reflection, warm fraternity, and joyful celebration of life.
