Jhansi, U.P., September 29, 2025: The Diocese of Jhansi hosted the “Bible Festival 2025” at Christ the King College Academy on September 27 and 28. The two-day festival gathered children, youth, and families from across the region to celebrate the Word of God in creative and joyful ways.
The solemn enthronement of the Holy Bible, a symbolic reminder of the central role of the Scriptures in the life of the Church, set the tone for the celebration. Bishop Wilfred Moras inaugurated the festival, and Bishop Emeritus Peter Parapulli delivered a moving invocation that established a reverent atmosphere for the days ahead.
Throughout the festival, participants engaged in a variety of vibrant activities—from crayon drawing and collage making to Bible speeches and solo dances—all designed to help them encounter Scripture more deeply. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated with active involvement from children, youth, and the faithful, uniting the community in worship. Music and creativity filled the venue as groups performed biblical songs and dances, and children donned costumes for a lively fancy dress segment. A Bible quiz tested knowledge and inspired participants to explore the Scriptures further.
The festival concluded with a heartfelt Thanksgiving ceremony, where winners of the various competitions were announced, and participants pledged to live out the message of the Bible in their daily lives.
More than a series of events, the festival became a moment of unity and inspiration. It showed how Scripture provides solutions to various social challenges, offering hope and direction even amid the distractions of today’s digital age.
Encouraged by the success of the celebration, the Jhansi Bible Commission announced plans to hold similar “Bible Mahotsavs” for seminarians, formees, and teachers across mission stations in the coming months, continuing the mission of bringing God’s Word closer to every heart.
