Bangalore, July 26, 2025: Catholic Connect Matrimony, a faith-based initiative of the CCBI, celebrated its first anniversary on 26 July 2025 on the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, patrons of family life, with a thanksgiving gathering at its Bangalore office. Graced by Fr. Alwyn Richard Dsouza, Director of the Family Commission, Mangalore, along with Mr. Nigel Fernandes, CEO of Catholic Connect, Naveen D’Souza, Matrimony Head and the entire Catholic Connect team, the celebration marked one year of transformative outreach, meaningful connections, and a growing mission to restore the sacredness of Catholic marriage across India.
Launched by Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, President of the CCBI, Catholic Connect Matrimony has grown into a national movement. With over 3,000 registered profiles from 28+ states, it offers Catholic singles a spiritually grounded alternative to conventional matchmaking platforms—fostering Christ-centred connections through prayerful discernment and shared values.
Beyond the Screen: Real Encounters Rooted in Faith
A distinctive hallmark of Catholic Connect Matrimony is its commitment to offline engagement, offering participants a chance to meet in person through carefully curated, faith-filled gatherings. Over the past year, the platform hosted three major “Meet & Greet” events that brought together hundreds of Catholic singles in an environment of prayer, fellowship, and joy:
These events weren’t merely social meetups—they were spirit-led encounters that gave participants the opportunity to engage meaningfully, guided by shared faith and vocational discernment.
Real Stories, Lasting Impact
Participants across the country have spoken of the platform’s authenticity, spiritual depth, and how it stands apart from superficial digital matchmaking:
Rhea & Lionel – Goa
“We met through Catholic Connect and instantly felt the peace we had been praying for. It gave us a space where faith came first.”
Carol & Brian – Mangaluru
“Catholic Connect gave us not just a platform but a prayerful experience. The Meet & Greet helped us break the ice.”
Tanya & Neil – Bengaluru
“We were tired of swiping and superficial apps. Catholic Connect brought purpose to our search. We found more than a partner—we found direction.”
Stories like these reflect the growing impact of Catholic Connect Matrimony—not just in building relationships, but in renewing the vocation of marriage within the Church.
Looking Ahead with Purpose
As Catholic Connect Matrimony steps into its second year, the mission remains clear: To reach more dioceses, foster deeper parish-level engagement, and continue creating prayerful spaces—online and offline—where single Catholics can encounter one another and journey together in faith.
On this special day, may the intercession of Saints Joachim and Anne guide and bless every young Catholic seeking a Christ-centred future through the vocation of marriage.
