CATECHETICAL DIPLOMA COURSE!
THE SOUL OF THE LITURGY: MUSIC IN THE SERVICE OF THE SACRED

The event, organised by the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission, will take place on Sunday, 24 August 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Pastoral Centre. It will be presided over by Bishop Dr. George Antonysamy, Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, who will present awards and certificates to participants of the Jubilee 2025 competitions.

The competitions, centred on the Documents of the Second Vatican Council, aimed to enlighten minds and inspire hearts by deepening understanding of Church teachings. Participants engaged in quizzes and study sessions on the working documents that formed part of the preparation for the Jubilee year.

Highlighting the day’s programme, Fr. Richie Vincent will deliver a thought-provoking message on the significance of Jubilee 2025, with special reference to South Cruise on the Concilium. His reflections are expected to provide fresh insight and inspiration for the faithful.

The celebration will continue with a Fellowship Lunch, followed by a procession at noon from the Pastoral Centre to the Cathedral. Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai will preside over the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving at the National Basilica of Saint Thomas, offering gratitude for the efforts and participation of the faithful in the Jubilee preparations.

All Adding a unique dimension to the day, an exhibition featuring the creative contributions of 100 participants will be on display. Each exhibitor will present what they have learned from the quiz competition, providing a glimpse into the rich diversity of reflections emerging from across the Archdiocese.

The event is expected to draw a large gathering of participants, clergy, and parishioners, marking it as a significant milestone in the Jubilee journey of the local Church. With a closing tea planned for evening, the day promises to blend faith, fellowship, and festivity.

Fr. K Arul Jesu Doss, Secretary of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission, extended a warm invitation to all participants and faithful, urging them to be part of this memorable celebration.
