Bengaluru, July 25, 2026: The Archdiocese of Bangalore will host the Karnataka Regional Mental Health Conference 2026 on 19 and 20 September 2026 at Paalanaa Bhavana, Archbishop's House, Bengaluru. The conference aims to bring together mental health professionals, healthcare workers, educators, social workers, religious leaders and students to promote awareness, collaboration and holistic approaches to mental health.
The event is being organised in association with the Karnataka Regional Bishops' Conference, Karnataka Regional Health Commission, Catholic Ministry for Mental Health (CMHM) Karnataka Region, Catholic Health Association of Karnataka, Catholic Nurses Guild of Bangalore, Catholic Doctors Association Bangalore, and Conference of Religious India (CRI) Karnataka.
The conference seeks to provide a platform for dialogue on the growing importance of mental health in today's society. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts, exchange experiences and explore practical ways of strengthening mental health care within families, educational institutions, healthcare services and faith communities.
Organisers hope the gathering will encourage greater collaboration between medical professionals, pastoral workers and community leaders, recognising that mental well-being requires both professional support and compassionate care.
The event will also highlight the Church's continuing commitment to promoting human dignity by supporting individuals and families affected by mental health challenges.
Over the course of two days, delegates will participate in sessions focused on current mental health concerns, preventive care, pastoral responses and community-based interventions. The conference will also provide opportunities for networking and sharing best practices among professionals working in healthcare, education and social services.
By bringing together experts from diverse disciplines, the organisers hope to inspire new initiatives that contribute to healthier communities across Karnataka.
Registration for the conference is now open, and interested participants are encouraged to enrol through the official online registration form. Further information is available from Rev. Fr.
