Bangalore, July 17, 2025: Mount Carmel College hosted the Christian Student Association’s Annual Retreat on 11th and 12th July 2025, drawing students into a powerful spiritual encounter centred on identity, love, and faith. With a blend of stirring liturgies, impactful sessions, and moments of prayerful reflection, the two-day retreat offered participants a profound experience of God’s mercy and truth. Sessions were led by Live Pure, a ministry under The Missionary Families of Christ (MFC), which promotes a lifestyle of purity and holiness.
The inaugural Mass was celebrated by Fr. Juventius Andrade, who delivered a stirring homily that described God as “scandalously merciful, shamelessly forgiving, and generously loving.” He challenged students to embrace this radical grace and allow it to transform their lives.
The first session, titled “Who are you?”, encouraged deep introspection on personal identity. Students were reminded that their worth lies not in material success or fleeting emotions, but in being made in the image of God.
Tackling the society’s misrepresentation of love, the second session offered a vision of love that is free, total, faithful, and fruitful — the essence of sacred marriage and sexuality. The session powerfully affirmed that love, sex, and marriage are divine gifts to be lived with reverence.
Issues threatening life and dignity — from drug abuse to abortion were handled in the final session, urging participants to choose life and responsibility, even in a world that often promotes the opposite. A Eucharistic Adoration, led by Live Pure’s music ministry, created a space for personal encounter with Christ.
The second day explored the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, who helps, protects, and transforms us daily. This was followed by a session on the Eucharist, inviting students to see the Mass not as ritual, but as a sacred transformation — the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Students also participated in the Sacrament of Confession, followed by the concluding Mass celebrated by Fr. Jude Nirmal. In his homily, he encouraged everyone to serve like Martha, love like Mary, and forgive like Joseph — living lives marked by compassion, attentiveness, and humble service.
The retreat at Mount Carmel College ended on a deeply uplifting note, leaving students spiritually strengthened and motivated to carry their faith boldly into the world.
