Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Sept. 6, 2025 —The Chhattisgarh Regional Commission for Faith Formation conducted a three-day catechist training programme from September 3 to 5 at the Bishop’s House in Raigarh. The event gathered 145 catechists from the dioceses of Raipur, Jashpur, Raigarh, and Ambikapur to deepen their understanding of faith formation and pastoral ministry.
Fr. Sylvanus Xalxo, Regional Secretary of the Commission, organised the programme under the guidance of Bishop Paul Toppo, Chairman of the Commission for Faith Formation in the region.
The sessions during the three days of the programme focused on the Jubilee Year theme of hope. Participants were encouraged to incorporate this theme into their pastoral work. Additionally, catechists engaged in meaningful discussions regarding the current challenges confronting the Church in its mission of catechesis and in the practice of the Christian faith.
A key highlight of the event was a sharing session where participants exchanged personal experiences, struggles, and best practices in ministry. This interaction fostered mutual learning and spiritual growth, inspiring participants to remain steadfast in their mission. Many attendees stated that the programme renewed their commitment to serving the Church and strengthened their sense of purpose in ministry.
