ABU DHABI, August 26, 2026: St. Joseph’s School, Abu Dhabi, is celebrating the achievement of its former student Kaziah Liz Mejo, who has been crowned Miss Universe India 2026 at the age of 19.
Kaziah's achievement has brought pride to her family, her former school and the wider community in Kerala and India. The Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST), associated with the school’s educational mission, also congratulated her on the achievement.
Sr. Jose Lynette, Superior General of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa, and the CSST team described Kaziah's success as a “proud CSST moment” and congratulated the management, teachers, staff and students of St Joseph’s School.
The sisters said Kaziah's achievement demonstrated the role of education in nurturing confidence, discipline, talent and a commitment to excellence.
For St. Joseph’s School, her journey from its classrooms to the national pageant platform reflects the potential of young people when they are encouraged to recognise their abilities, pursue their ambitions and work with determination.
The CSST congratulatory message said Kaziah's success reflected the “noble legacy” of the congregation’s educational mission, which seeks to empower young people to discover their gifts, pursue excellence and become confident and positive influences in society.
The sisters also expressed hope that Kaziah's achievement would inspire other young women to believe in their abilities, dream boldly and work diligently to achieve their goals.
As Kaziah prepares to represent India on the international stage, the CSST family conveyed its prayers and blessings for her future journey.
“Congratulations, Kaziah! The St Joseph’s School Abu Dhabi Management and the CSST family are proud of you,” the message said.
The sisters also thanked the school’s management, teachers and staff for nurturing Kaziah's talents and wished her success as she takes the next step on the international platform.
“May God bless you abundantly as you represent India on the international stage,” they said.
