Indore Diocese Plans Women’s Representation on Parish Finance and Pastoral Councils

INDORE, October 15, 2026: The Women’s Resource Team of the Diocese of Indore has drawn up a timeline to strengthen women’s representation on parish finance and pastoral councils, aiming to increase their participation in Church decision-making.

The plan emerged during a closing evaluation session led by Sr Stella Samad, which reviewed operational challenges faced by individual parishes and identified practical steps to advance women’s participation in parish governance.

Participants jointly developed a local timeline to facilitate women’s representation on the two councils in the coming quarters.

Feedback from the session indicated increased confidence among participants, with women expressing joy at being recognised as co-responsible agents of evangelisation.

The local organising team thanked parish clergy and the national desk of the CCBI Commission for Women for their continued support.

The Women’s Resource Team also committed to extending the initiative to all remaining deaneries of the Diocese of Indore, with the aim of strengthening women’s participation in the Church’s pastoral and administrative life.
