Goa, India – On Friday night, 6 June 2025, parishes across all 15 deaneries of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman will join in a powerful spiritual initiative titled “Hearts of Hope – Devachea Mogachem Zagronn – Farikponnachem Zagronn.” The all-night vigil, organised by the World Apostolate of Fatima – Goa Archdiocesan Division, will serve as an act of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão has conveyed his blessing and message of encouragement to the faithful participating in this sacred event.
Commencing at 8:45 PM on the First Friday and concluding with the First Saturday Devotion and Holy Mass on the morning of 7 June, the vigil will include Eucharistic celebrations, Adoration, Rosaries, and prayers of reparation. Themed “Dilexit Nos – He Loved Us,” the event draws inspiration from the late Pope Francis’ renewed call to devotion to the Sacred Heart.
The faithful will offer prayers for peace in hearts, homes, Goa, India, and the world; for healing and reparation for sin and indifference to God’s love; and for the sanctification of the Church, especially priests and families.
Church leadership has expressed strong support for the initiative. Auxiliary Bishop Simão Purificação Fernandes will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caranzalem (Panjim Deanery). Rev. Fr. Henry Falcao, Episcopal Vicar – Central Zone, will preside in Ponda at St. Anne’s Church, while Rev. Fr. Joaquim Fernandes SVD, Episcopal Vicar for the Religious, will lead the First Saturday Eucharistic Celebration at St. Catherine of Alexandrina, Old Goa.
The vigil is being organised through a collective effort involving deans, parish priests, assistant clergy, religious communities, associations, parish pastoral councils, and Small Christian Communities (SCCs). Together, they are coordinating logistics and mobilising prayer leaders across Goa.
In a clear and unifying message, the organisers have declared: “Same Prayers. Same Time. One Heart. Across Goa.” Held during the Jubilee Year of Hope declared by the late Pope Francis, the vigil is positioned as a mission of healing, reparation, and solidarity.
The World Apostolate of Fatima – Goa invites all Catholics in Goa to join in spirit and prayer on this sacred night.
