Fr. Agnel Higher Secondary School, Pilar Observes Sadhbhavna Diwas

Pilar, Goa, September 28, 2025: Fr. Agnel Higher Secondary School, Pilar, Goa, in collaboration with the Solidarity Forum, marked Sadhbhavna Diwas in mid-September to promote peace and interreligious harmony. Around 600 students and teachers attended the event.

The programme opened with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Fr. Jerry Vaz, Principal; Ms. Jisha Ponnachan, Assistant Professor at Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce; writer Mr. Pachu Menon; Dr. Fr. Elvis Fernandes, Convenor of the Solidarity Forum; Mrs. Manoja Walke; and student representative Saif Malik. A prayer for peace, “Sarvesham Svastir Bhavatu,” followed.

Ms. Ponnachan delivered the keynote address, highlighting shared human values through anecdotes. Mr. Menon reflected on the need for communal harmony, while student performances included a monologue, an interfaith song, and a Hindi skit by the Brothers of the Pilar Society. Students also shared personal experiences of interfaith encounters.

In his address, Fr. Vaz urged the school community to foster goodwill and harmony. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, the national anthem, and tokens of appreciation presented to the guests.
