Tinsukia, Assam, 17 May 2025: The Diocese of Miao in East Arunachal Pradesh launched its official website today at Kristu Jyoti Niwas in Tinsukia, Assam, during a special gathering of diocesan priests to review the diocese's progress as it approaches its 20th year of establishment. Bishop George Pallipparambil SDB, Bishop of Miao Diocese, presided over the event.
Speaking at the launch, Bishop George emphasised the importance of communication in the modern world. “Communication plays an important role in our daily life, and in this internet age, our diocese needs to have its own social media presence. This website is surely a step in that direction,” he said.
The newly launched website—www.miaodiocese.in—features a clean and user-friendly design. It features sections that highlight the history of the diocese, provide details of its officials and mission centres, and present biographies of its bishops. A dedicated section also features information about the founding missionaries of the diocese, Servants of God Krick and Bourry.
Bishop George expressed his hope that the website would function not just as a source of information but also as an instrument to promote peace, hope, and spiritual reflection. “I hope this website not only connects Miao with the rest of the world but also becomes a tool that offers an authentic source of information, spreads messages of peace and hope, and carries the message of salvation to all,” he said.
To broaden its digital footprint, the website also integrates links to the diocese’s official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms, aiming to foster greater engagement with young people and the wider public.
The launch marks a significant milestone in the diocese’s ongoing efforts to strengthen communication and outreach in the digital era.
