New Delhi, 16 July 2025: Apurva Xess, a dynamic youth leader and committed Communio Missionary Volunteer, has been appointed as a member of the National Synod Team and the Facilitation Committee to implement the Pastoral Plan of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI).
A native of Kharsia Parish in the diocese of Raigarh, Chhattisgarh region, Apurva was born on 12 October 1995. She is known for her deep involvement in the youth ministry and her passionate engagement with the Church’s mission as Communio Volunteer. She currently serves as the Diocesan Youth President of Raigarh, a National Executive Committee Member of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), and a National Council Member of the CCBI Ecology Commission.
Apurva holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Zoology. She is also an independent trader, specialising in options and derivatives. Alongside her professional work, she plays a key role in faith formation and leadership training, serving as a YOUCAT study group coordinator and a youth ministry trainer.
Known for her clarity in public speaking, leadership ability and strong sense of mission, Apurva brings both experience and enthusiasm to the National Synod Team. Her appointment marks the CCBI’s continuing commitment to encouraging youth participation in shaping the life and mission of the Church in India.
