June 17, 2025: In a quiet French chapel 350 years ago, Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and revealed His Heart — aflame with love and pierced by rejection. That same Sacred Heart continues to beat for us today. Not as a distant memory, but as a present, personal call. A Heart that still loves, still longs, and still waits.
Let us draw near and listen again to the words Jesus shared — words that still echo, still heal, and still call us closer.
1. “My Heart is on fire with love for you.”
When Jesus revealed His Heart, He wasn’t offering a mere image — He was unveiling a love that is living, burning, and deeply personal. Unlike the world, where we often have to hustle for validation, prove our worth, and compete for attention, with Jesus, there’s no need to impress. We don’t need to curate ourselves, achieve great things, or earn His love. His gaze is already fixed on us — tenderly, constantly, lovingly. In the quiet truth of His Sacred Heart, we find a place where we are already enough.
2. “They repay My love with coldness and indifference.”
Jesus revealed the sorrow of being forgotten — especially in the Eucharist — not to accuse, but to share the aching tenderness of His love. Our days are often filled to the brim — work, deadlines, group chats, social media, celebrations, get-togethers, and endless content. Even the joyful things can sometimes leave us emotionally scattered and spiritually dry. And yet, Jesus doesn’t compete for our attention. He quietly waits — not just in the silence of the chapel, but in the pauses between plans, in the stillness after a party, or in that moment before sleep — whispering, “I’m still here.”
3. “I want a feast to be celebrated in honour of My Heart.”
Jesus asked for a feast, not to be glorified, but to gather hearts back to His own. The Sacred Heart feast (celebrated the Friday after Corpus Christi) is a gentle yearly nudge — to rest, to reset, and to come home. It’s a reminder that we don’t always have to be strong. On that day, whether you’re at a packed office or doing dishes with a weary soul, just remembering His love is part of the celebration. His Heart meets us right where we are — whether we feel like saints or a bit of a mess.
4. “Come to Me on the First Fridays and I will give you all the graces you need.”
The promise of grace through the First Friday devotion isn't about superstition — it’s about building a rhythm that nourishes the soul. Life often feels like a constant juggle: studies, finances, parenting, relationships. But in the middle of it all, pausing on a Friday once a month to receive Jesus in the Eucharist can re-centre our scattered hearts. His grace is not instant magic, but a slow and steady stream that carries us forward when we feel overwhelmed, restless, or simply tired of carrying too much.
5. “Place My Heart at the centre of your home.”
Jesus asked to be invited into our homes — into the mess, not just the moments we tidy up for visitors. In a time when family dinners are rare, screens are constant, and conversations often run shallow, His Sacred Heart is a quiet anchor. Hanging His image in our living rooms or near the dining table isn’t about decoration; it’s a way of saying, “Jesus, you’re part of this.” His Heart doesn’t demand picture-perfect harmony — it simply desires to be present in the ordinary moments that make up our lives.
As celebrations unfold across the world this year — the message remains as fresh as ever. The Heart of Jesus is still beating. Still burning. Still calling each of us by name.
And 350 years on, He still says:
“Behold this Heart which has so loved you.”
