The Village Samanvay Sabha, organised by the Chhattisgarh Diocese on February 27 at Emmanuel Church in Vishrampur and Ganeshpur, served as a platform for diverse groups—including the Christian community, Bajrang Dal and Gau-Putra Sangathan—to unite in a spirit of national pride and social commitment. The event featured patriotic songs and collective pledges to uphold peace, brotherhood, and development.

Amid slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Chhattisgarh Mahtari, participants, including diocese leaders and Hindu organizational representatives, reaffirmed their dedication to social cohesion. Diocese Secretary Nitin Lawrence, Vice President Pastor Sameer Franklin, and Treasurer Jaideep Robinson highlighted the role of the Christian community in upholding constitutional values and contributing to national progress. Omesh Bisen, a leader of the Gau-Putra Organisation, emphasized collaboration between religious groups for the greater good.

A collective oath was taken, pledging service to mankind, resistance to anti-social activities, and cooperation with authorities in strengthening local communities.

Meanwhile, on February 25, a peace committee meeting was held in Raipur’s Civil Lines auditorium to ensure harmony in Christian-majority villages like Vishrampur, Ganeshpur, and Jhanakpur. Led by Dr. Lal Umed Singh, Deputy Inspector General and SSP Raipur, and Vijay Agrawal, SSP Baloda Bazar, the meeting addressed concerns over a controversial social media post, with officials assuring thorough investigation and legal action against any disruptive elements.

Prominent attendees, including Arun Pannalal, President of Chhattisgarh Christian Forum, and local sarpanches Archana Vani (Vishrampur) and Reshu Masih (Ganeshpur), pledged support for maintaining peace. Discussions also covered preventing animal cruelty, with strict enforcement of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

With board examinations starting March 1, officials promised increased police patrolling and special security arrangements to ensure a peaceful environment for students.

These initiatives reflect a growing commitment in Chhattisgarh to strengthening interfaith cooperation and communal peace, paving the way for a more united society.
